The Bad...
Regrettably, it's not usually that simple.
MLM genealogy leads are often years of age, having been dragged from the back office of companies which are no longer in business. This translates into lots of bad numbers and people yelling, "John doesn't live here anymore... Stop phoning me!"

This affects you in two ways:
1) Lawfully, you need to be watchful in how you make contact. Since you don't have their authorization, and their phone number might be on the do not phone call list, you can't use something like voice broadcasting... and also you need to be careful with e-mail.
You may call them one by one, but that's not so effective...
Direct mail is probably most secure, but some MLM genealogy leads actually come with address data. Many include things like name, phone number, and e-mail if you're lucky.
2) It requires more skill to achieve success with these leads. If you're going to pick up the phone and call them harsh, you better understand exactly what you're going to say and be positive in your delivery.
Or else--if they smell fear--you'll be eaten alive!

You might be right to be aimed towards opportunity buyers, but remember that many MLM genealogy lists are old, obsolete and full of bad data.
