Staying positive in a negative world can be challenging most especially when bad news roll in with the stormy waves of life. Financial crisis, disease, divorce, broken families, betrayal, bankruptcy, loneliness hit you right smack in your face making your stomach churn and cringe.
I remember those moments in my life when I was in my early twenties and despair was one of my constant companions. There were moments I would close my eyes and would yearn to never open them again. Can life just go away? But you open your eyes eventually and you are still breathing. And you sigh with a mixture of “not again” and perhaps deep down, well, I have to admit that there was also a tinge of “glad to be still alive” feeling.
It’s ironic huh? But then that’s the beauty of the human spirit. In the end, the knowing comes that the best and the most magnificent part of you wants to live and breathe and be.
Trust is one of the basic strategies in staying positive. Trusting in the Divine, the Source, God or whatever you want to call it is staying in alignment; and when you are connected to your divinity, you trust, because you know that all is well.
Sometimes when it rains, it pours. There are days when I arrive in our preschool and I am greeted with a problem. “There is no water.” And then more problems come, “A parent wants to talk to you. She has a complaint.” A call comes in, “We regret to inform you but…” and another teacher approaches you, “I need to be absent today…”
I would truly end up looking at the heavens, taking long deep breaths and saying aloud to myself, “It’s okay! I fully trust that solutions will come and we will find a way to fix all these problems.” So you do everything. You plan. You call the plumber. You talk to the parent. You allow the teacher to take a leave. And expect the best to happen.
Indeed, it does.
Trust Affirmation
I trust that I will be divinely guided and protected today.
I trust that all my needs will be met today and that the pure desires of my heart will manifest today.
I trust that the best thing will happen today and trust the loving presence of Source will sustain me.
Gratitude: Appreciate Everything
What is the first thought that comes to your mind when you wake up in the morning? Interestingly, many of our thoughts lead us to what we must do, facing our problems in our heads and concocting a plan to solve this and that!
To stay positive, begin your day with a gratitude rampage. This is the best way to attune yourself to the goodness and beauty that lies all around you. Take a deep lovely breath and be grateful that you are alive! Stand up and stretch those arms up in the air and appreciate that you can move and walk around. Go outside and breathe in the fresh air and listen to the sounds of life and be thankful for all that you have and all that you are.The Secret Gratitude Book
This alone can start your day in a positive mood. Then move about your day, choosing to appreciate rather than criticize. The more things you noticed and are grateful about, the more bountiful blessings come your way.I Am Grateful: Recipes and Lifestyle of Cafe Gratitude
Gratitude Affirmation
I am so grateful to be alive and for every gift and blessing that I have.
I am grateful for all the experiences that I have and for the lessons learned.
I am grateful that every moment is an opportunity I can use to live my life the way I want to live.
Purpose: Live a Meaningful Life
A friend of mine calls me up. She is in despair. She hates her work and doesn’t know what to do with her life. She wants to get married and have a family. But she hasn’t found the right guy yet. So she waits and waits in despair.
Many of us resonate with this story at one point in our lives. If your life is empty and meaningless, you will find out that you need a purpose, a vision and meaning. If you are feeling this way right now, don’t just mope around and lament that life is not going well for you. Find that which gives you joy. Follow your bliss. And it all starts with self-awareness. Learn about yourself. Write down your dreams. Go on a retreat. Meditate. Read books. Talk with a friend. Find your purpose and live a meaningful life. This will truly help you stay positive as you do the things you are passionate about. The Purpose Driven® Life: What on Earth Am I Here For?
Purpose Affirmation
I am learning about myself and my purpose in life.
I am excited to do the things I truly want to do.
I am living the life of my dreams.
Love:Express and Be Love I n All Forms
I became an aunt again. My brother and his wife just recently had a new baby boy. It never fails to astound me that I can actually sit beside the crib and just stare at the baby sleeping –sometimes for half an hour to an hour. And I would giggle silently as he would smile in his sleep. He looked so adorable with his tiny fists curled up beside his face. It made me realized that pure love, unconditional love is like this. And it is just so awesome.Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose
To stay positive in this world, we need to acknowledge something truly beautiful and magnificent. We are love expressed. Yes, you, me – we are all love! And the more we recognize this, the more we are encouraged to bring out the best in ourselves.
Love is then recognized everywhere. It is but natural. The more you see love within you, the more love you see outside of you. The more love you have for yourself, the more love you can give to others.
Be love in all forms…expressed with compassion, tenderness and care. Love heals and helps you truly live a positive life.
Love Affirmations
I am love.
I am love expressed.
I am love manifested.
Choice: Use the Power of Choice with Full Awareness
I know of one boy who had a broken family to start with. He had to leave home and fend for himself. He worked in different places until he ended up working with us. I see him everyday and so I know him well. Life has been a tough ride for him. And yet he has the determination and drive and motivation to work hard. He told us he wanted to continue his education. So he goes to a public school at night while during the day he works for us. He is with our preschool for three years now; and next week, he will graduate with his elementary education and moving on to secondary education by next school year.
I am so proud of him. And I learn much from his attitude and perspective. You see it is so easy to fall into the pits of despair and be miserable and say I am too old to study again. But he chose the path that brings him to a positive place. He chose to trust and be grateful. He chose to love himself by giving himself a chance. And so in the end, it all boils down to our choice.
Choose wisely. Choose well. Choose every moment of everyday to be positive, to be grateful, and to be love expressed. Life is beautiful and so are you.

If you want to learn the true art of mind power and how it is directly related to the Desire For Power, then it is of the greatest importance you understand 2 functions of your mind, and also how they interact with each other
You only possess one mind, but it has 2 totally different functions – and the names generally used to distinguish these 2 different functions are as follows.
1, The Conscious Mind
2, The Subconscious Mind
There are many other terms used. But the 2 listed above, are the ones used most to represent the 2 main functions of your mind.
To help us better understand the conscious and subconscious mind, they may be compared to a tree and its roots
Youre conscious mind being the tree, which helps you with daily situations like, decision-making, rational thinking, or just simply figuring out what to do and how best to do it.
When we think of me we think of our conscious mind, the mind of which we are fully aware. This part of the mind makes decisions for us and directs our activities and Desire For Power; it also analyzes, criticises and even commands us.
Youre subconscious mind being the roots; it deals mostly with the repetitions of learned behaviour. This can be very helpful for you, as it enables you to deal with situations much more easily the next time they arise.
Whatever we see, hear, smell, taste, touch or feel passes through the conscious mind and reaches the subconscious mind where it is stored.
Once you have learned how best to deal with the situation you find it much easier the next time around this is because you are using information which is already stored.
For instance, once you have learned to ride a bike you dont have to consciously think about it anymore. This is because the stored information will come to you automatically the next time you get on your bike to ride it.
Just as if you were to learn where each letter on your keyboard is – you can now type without looking because you have formed a mental picture in your subconscious mind, of what the keyboard actually looks like.
The above are only two instances (of how the subconscious mind stores up relations of learned behaviour) and we are sure you would be able to find many more examples of this in your everyday life!
Information from the conscious mind gets past into the subconscious mind, and there is a very strong link between the two. It is said that everything you have ever seen, heard and experienced is perceived by your conscious mind, and then stored away into your subconscious mind as a memory.
Not only is this memory stored as the incident itself, but also any feelings which went with it at the time are also stored.
Your subconscious mind does not only store your memories and feelings. It is the maker of all the great ideas and Powerful Desires you have ever had, and is also the seat of your intuition and creativeness
Your subconscious also keeps you going without you even being aware of it. It takes care of your bodily functions your heart beat, and automatically runs such activities as, movement, language, visual perception and a whole host of other processes of your mind and body for you.
It also scans your mind for conflict and distress; assesses your environment for danger and threats, and relays and interprets perceptions, sensations, and feeling last but not least it is also the storehouse of all your experience and decisions everything which makes you the person you ar

Self Hypnosis is a subject which evokes a million responses from a million different people. Some feel overawed by it, yet others are plain scared of it; some others seem skeptical about it, and yet others are what we know as believers. Have you ever found yourself wondering what Self Hypnosis is all about and how it can affect your desire for power? Have you been intrigued by the success stories you have heard, but never thought you could benefit from it?
Various people may have various reactions to self-hypnosis, however the fact remains that it is fast emerging as a field of science which can prove beneficial in successfully addressing a myriad problems in anyones life. Contrary to popular belief it is not about seeing a magician or getting help, its about being self empowered. It can strengthen you power for desire. Self hypnosis is about taking the responsibility of bringing about changes in your life, in your own hands. It is meant for anyone who wants to work at changing aspects of their personality, or habits that they have formed.
Hypnosis is but the awakening and strengthening of our subconscious mind. Our subconscious mind is more powerful than we can ever imagine, and its high time we gave it, its due. Self-hypnosis is all about connecting our conscious mind, with the subconscious mind. Its like making two long lost friends meet each other. Or better still, its like helping two spouses who often miss connecting with each other on a busy day, reconnect with each other. In order to master the art of awakening our subconscious mind, it is necessary that we take out time from our hectic schedules to talk to it, to coax it to blossom into its full glory.

Self-hypnosis is similar to driving a car. When we first learn to drive it, we are careful about all the maneuvers that we need to make to have a smooth ride push the accelerator, release the clutch, steady the wheel. When we first begin, it seems like we would be reduced to nothing but nervous wrecks while driving; however, as time passed and driving became a routine, most of us did not pay even the slightest attention to the strategies required to drive a car. Because we function on something called auto-pilot. The act of driving, and all the maneuvers associated with it are so well imprinted in our minds, that we do not need to put in a conscious effort. It has by default become a part of the subconscious mind. Self-hypnosis too, is related to the subconscious and it requires practice. There is a certain amount of discipline required to awaken our sleeping subconscious.
Self Hypnosis is basically a means of letting your subconscious mind communicate with your conscious mind. This can awaken and elevate your power for desire which helps you take action. We can only establish contact with our subconscious minds, when we relax and let our conscious mind take a back seat. Our subconscious mind has immense powers, and it can be mastered with routine practice. Once the programming has been done, our little computer functions automatically on the responses it has stored in early practice sessions.
With the help of self-hypnosis, you can successfully alter habits such as smoking, nervousness, drug or alcohol addiction. Similarly when it comes to personality development, use of self hypnosis can make you a more confident and assertive person, it can instill a positive self image, become a performance booster and even help make your life a better place to be in.
Research suggests that we only use about 10% of our subconsciouss total potential. So just imagine if we could put into the use rest 90% how different life could be! You could fulfill those nagging desires for power and ultimately change how you think about life, others and your self.

Imagine yourself as a Dart Board. Everything and everyone else around you may become Dart Pins, at one point or another. These dart pins will destroy your self esteem, squash your Desire For Power and pull you down in ways you wont even remember. Don't let them destroy you, or get the best of you. So which dart pins should you avoid?
Dart Pin #1 : Negative Work Environment
Beware of "dog eat dog" theory where everyone else is fighting just to get ahead. This is where non-appreciative people usually thrive. No one will appreciate your contributions even if you miss lunch and dinner, and stay up late. Most of the time you get to work too much without getting help from people concerned. Stay out of the power struggle, it will ruin your self esteem. Competition is at stake anywhere. Be healthy enough to compete, but in a healthy competition that is.
Dart Pin #2: Other People's Behavior
Bulldozers, brown nosers, gossipmongers, whiners, backstabbers, snipers, people walking wounded, controllers, naggers, complainers, exploders, patronizers, sluffers, all these kinds of people will pose bad vibes for your self esteem, as well as to your self improvement scheme.
Dart Pin #3: Changing Environment
You cant be a green bug on a brown field. Changes challenge our paradigms. It tests our flexibility, adaptability and alters the way we think. Changes will make life difficult for awhile, it may cause stress but it will help us find ways to improve our selves. Change will be there forever, we must be susceptible to it. That the key to the Power Of Desire.

Dart Pin #4: Past Experience
Its okay to cry and say "Ouch!" when we experience pain. But dont let pain transform itself into fear. It might grab you by the tail and swing you around. Treat each failure and mistake as a lesson. That nurtures the human desire for power.
Dart Pin #5: Negative World View
Look at what you're looking at. Dont wrap yourself up with all the negativities of the world. In building self esteem, we must learn how to make the best out of worst situations.
Dart Pin #6: Determination Theory
The way you are and your behavioral traits is said to be a mixed end product of your inherited traits (genetics), your upbringing (psychic), and your environmental surroundings such as your spouse, the company, the economy or your circle of friends. You have your own identity. If your father is a failure, it doesnt mean you have to be a failure too. Learn from other peoples experience, so youll never have to encounter the same mistakes.
Sometimes, you may want to wonder if some people are born leaders or positive thinkers. NO. Being positive, and staying positive is a choice. Building self esteem and drawing lines for self improvement is a choice, not a rule or a talent. God wouldnt come down from heaven and tell you "George, you may now have the permission to build self esteem and improve your self."
In life, its hard to stay tough specially when things and people around you keep pulling you down. When we get to the battle field, we should choose the right luggage to bring and armors to use, and pick those that are bullet proof. Lifes options give us arrays of more options. Along the battle, we will get hit and bruised. And wearing a bullet proof armor ideally means "self change". The kind of change which comes from within. Voluntarily. Armor or Self Change changes 3 things: our attitude, our behavior and our way of thinking.
Building self esteem will eventually lead to self improvement if we start to become responsible for who we are, what we have and what we do. Its like a flame that should gradually spread like a brush fire from inside and out. When we develop self esteem, we take control of our mission, values and discipline. Self esteem brings about self improvement, true assessment, and determination. So how do you start putting up the building blocks of self esteem? Be positive. Be contented and happy. Be appreciative. Never miss an opportunity to compliment. A positive way of living will help you build self esteem, enhance the desire for power and guide you to self improvement.

“A great desire for freedom brings freedom; a great desire for wealth brings wealth. Weak desire brings weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat.” – Napoleon Hill

At first glance, would you be able to tell the real gold from a fake ?
Just like majority of people, you probably wont be able to tell since both have the same look, unless you have prior knowledge that one is real.
The same thing can be said of failure. In one glance, all failures might look the same because these lead to negative consequences and emotions. It is possible that hidden among these failures is one disguised as a nugget of success.
You have read in many e-zines, articles, and books that failure is a part of success. Failure is often camouflaged as success and acts as a guide towards success. This article emphasizes that failure is inevitable in your trek to accomplishment. In fact, it is the critical ingredient to power and success.
How do you deal with this critical ingredient?
Actually, all failures have the potential to become success stories. It is just a matter of using failure to your advantage. In this case, practice makes perfect. As you encounter more failures, you will learn what works and what does not.
For each failure, you are one step closer to success. This is the reason why you must not give up easily should failure occur. Desire for power and success in your capabilities motivates you to continue in pursuing what you are after.
You must not be afraid of failure; think of failure as a tool for success. Use failure as a tool in digging your mine of success. So what if I fail! I may have failed now but that doesnt mean I am completely abandoning my success goal. More failures? Bring them on! More failures mean more lessons that can be learned. This is the attitude you must keep in your mind and heart to keep you going for the goal.
What if your resources are all used up? What if you are going bankrupt and accumulating debts? What if your assets are turning into liabilities? This is where your determination and intense belief in yourself come to the picture. If you sincerely believe you are going to make it to the top even if you have to pass through scourges of failure, go for it!

Make the most out of failures and learn from them. Try to keep track of your failures by listing them on a piece of paper. Use this list to find out the different causes of failures, and solutions you have used to overcome them.
Ask yourself: What did I do wrong? How can I do better? Asking difficult questions forces you to maximize the golden learning opportunity present in every failure.
Imagine yourself caught in the middle of a storm. What do you usually do?
When you are in the middle of a storm, you stop whatever you are doing and try to protect what you still have. You wait out the storm in a safe place and wait for the sun to shine. Amidst any turbulence, you must have the confidence that you will survive.
Failure is like a storm. It passes swiftly. It provides the opportunity for you to stop to think why, how, and where you went wrong. The solution you are looking for is the sunshine after the storm. You consolidate your resources, backtrack a little, do some adjustments, and then continue pursuing your objective.
Remember, all failures have the potential to become success stories. It is just a matter of using failure to your advantage. Failures make you wiser and may help you detect that hidden golden nugget of success.

What is it that makes one man go where others don't dare tread? And that keeps him going even when the odds seem so insurmountable? When others around him expect the worst, and obstacle upon obstacle, cause him to wonder if perhaps, just perhaps, everybody might be right and he may be crazy?

That my friend is what is called DESIRE! Desire is one of the strongest emotions, and one of the greatest forces man has ever known. When harnessed properly it will give you everything you have ever wanted! Desire is the Fuel for success.
Just as a car or any other automobile needs fuel to keep going, a man's desire is what drives him and will ultimately determine if he will hold that prize at the end of the race. The thing that determines why the one person Does and the other Doesn't is not physical ability or the lack thereof, but desire and or the absence thereof.
It is said where there is a will there is a way, but what isn't said is that the will doesn't exist by itself and of itself. It is fuelled by desire. If you have lost your desire for whatever it is you want, you have Lost the Race.
Desire doesn't reason or justify. All it wants is satisfaction. It is not concerned with how you bring it about.
Desire, like most things is not something you are born with. It is a force and power which can be induced through the senses such as sight, hearing and smell. Let me give you an example.
When you see a beautiful woman or man, it does something to you. It triggers a power or force that will either die a natural death, or will become a raging fire.
That depends on what you do with it from that point onwards. Now, I used the example of being attracted to either a man or a woman, but desire is not limited to that. You can desire a big house, a car or desire to travel the world. However this will not mean much, until you crystallize this desire into something tangible, something you can see, hear, smell or touch.
So, to induce desire for whatever it is you want, you have to introduce the object of your desire, to your senses. The more you see something, the stronger your desire for that thing will become.
Lets take the example of a beautiful woman or man again. If he or she has made enough of an impression on you, you would want to see that person again, right? But if you leave it to chance you may or may not see him or her again. In the event you don't, the feelings will likely die a natural death.
But lets say, you see that person again and again, what do you think will happen? That's right! The feelings you have will become stronger.
So what you need to do is to introduce the object of your desire to your senses, not once or twice but again and again and again.
If you can, physically touch and smell and experience the object of your desire. If you desire wealth, go to the places that are symbols of wealth and get the feeling of wealth.
This can be places like expensive restaurants or five-star hotels. If you can afford it, book a room or a suite, even if it's just for one night.
If you don't have a lot of cash just go there and book a table. Order a cup of coffee or something else which isn't too expensive. I'm sure you get the picture. Do this over and over and you'll find that your Desire gets stronger and stronger.
You can apply this to anything and you will find that your desire burns stronger than ever.
If you know someone who is wealthy, approach the person and offer to assist with anything, free of charge. Most people will appreciate this gesture. Some might even take you along to places they go and may even introduce you to their circle of friends.
Alternatively go to a Dealership that sells expensive cars and just sit in one of the cars in the show room. Experience the feeling of wealth. Touch the expensive leather and wood, smell it. You can do this as often as you like. The more you do it the higher your desire will be. Do all this in addition to your other efforts to accomplish your goal.
If you cannot physically go to the places I've mentioned, you can get these places and objects to come to you. Looking at pictures is another good way to increase your desire and it doesn't cost you anything, other than a little effort.
You see, your subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between a real and imagined experience. It will accept whatever is imprinted upon it, and will start attracting that condition in terms of the people and circumstances that you need to satisfy Your Desire!
There are thousands of magazines that have pictures of the object you desire. Here's what I have done and what you can do too.
Cut out some pictures that vividly depict the thing you want and paste it all over your room or office. Position some of the pictures in such a way that it is the first thing you see when you wake up or come into that room, and the last thing you see when you leave or fall asleep.
Here is a final thought. Desire alone will not accomplish your your goals for you, it is just the Fuel. Imagine a car with fuel but no engine. Or a car that has fuel and an engine but no wheels. It won't go anywhere. The same goes for someone who only has desire.
This by the way describes about 90% of all the people in the world, who only desire things but are not prepared to do what it takes to get what they want.
